As we come to the close of 2022 and have now completed all of our games at Senior, Junior, and Vets level I would just like to take a minute of your time and pause for a quick review of the past year.
For obvious reasons I don’t want to spend too much time on last season, safe to say every club has its highs and lows and as some one very famous who is no longer with us once said – Last “season’ was our ‘annis horribilis’ ‘ and not one we will look back fondly on!
But I must say how proud I was of all of our players and committee people of which 98 per cent stood by the club, and spent most of the summer re-inventing our selves in oh so many ways with recruiting both on the pitch, and at committee level and also calling on the help of our many friends. The result is that we have reached the half way of this season with the following stats:
Unbeaten in pre-season
15 games played this season in all competitions
Unbeaten in the League
Unbeaten in the League Cup
Unbeaten in the FA Cup
0 defeats
0 draws
6 goals conceded
76 goals scored
Incredible.
During the summer, someone said to a few of us that we were a “Club of the Past”. If ever we needed more motivation after being relegated – then that was it!
Well, today I can confirm that – Yes we are a proud club with a rich history and our past is very important to us. But we are also a club of today as our current stats prove, and with our plans we will also be a club of the future. We have all bought into that.
So for those who are not in our circle – Remember our name – Cardiff City Ladies FC, a proud Welsh Club.
