Goals from Jessie Taylor and Chloe Lloyd helped Cardiff City Ladies to a crucial 2 – 0 victory away at Chatham.

Taylor’s first half strike and Lloyd’s second half penalty secured a second win on the bounce for the Dragons who move 11 points away from the drop zone.

The win takes City up to seventh place.

Taylor struck first on the 28th minute.

Cardiff swung a set piece in and Chatham couldn’t deal with it.

The ball rolled agonisingly across the six yard box and Jessie Taylor was there to tap in the loose ball.

Chatham came out hungry in the second half and immediately got on the scoresheet. Or so they thought…

A headed goal and celebrations were cut short by the offside flag. The game remained 1 – 0.

But just two minutes later, Tianna Teiser was brought down in the box and the ref gave a penalty to the visitors.

Confident as always, Chloe Lloyd stepped up and buried the Chats.

A spirited performance from the home side kept them knocking at the door but they couldn’t breach a stellar Cardiff backline.

The Dragons move up to 7th in the table with the win after all of the teams around them dropped points.

Next week, they host Cheltenham Town Ladies looking to make it three wins on the bounce..
